An amebic lung abscess: report of a case.

摘要: Recently the number of amebiasis cases has increased in Japan. Pleuropulmonary is a very rare complication liver amebiasis. We report herein case 54-year-old man presenting with an amebic lung abscess his right lower lung. The diagnosis was established from direct examination pus which trophozoites Entamoeba histolytica were detected. After oral administration metronidazole, laboratory findings improved and he thus underwent lobectomy. He discharged without any relapse infection 20 days after thoracotomy. conclude that protozoan should be suspected pleuropulmonary several types antibiotics prove to ineffective.
