摘要: Abstract The modernisation of agriculture has been, and continues to be, the cause an increasing disconnection between farming, nature, society. This given rise a series social, economic, ecological crises in food chain. Some farmers are responding this by adjusting their land-use farming practices so as make farms more sustainable. But such changes need be aligned with specificities local bio-physical environment logic political economic environment. article highlights how cooperative approaches allow public private regulatory systems support transitions. Through theoretical lens on place-based restorative it analyses interprets three complementary possible starting points for transition towards sustainable agri-food system. case studies show cooperatives can either linked policies (and thus extrinsic product quality), or market intrinsic combination both. These links provide competitive advantages farmers, enable them increase income from farming. We then discuss effectiveness these forms self-governance, approaches, if well organised implemented appropriately embedded, empower further change adapt restore improve endogenous resource base. analysis shows that while they place-specific far locally/regionally-bounded success (or failure) critically depends alignment national, supra-national global actants.
