Quality of Life and Parkinson's Disease

摘要: Background. People with Parkinson's disease (PD) have a progressive loss of function eventually leading to severe disability. Although PD would be expected profound impact on an individual's psychosocial health, there is relatively limited research its effect. The purposes this study were (a) examine the relationships between physical disability, depression, and control beliefs quality life in people (b) characterize how these variables differ by stage disease.Methods. Eighty-six individuals from five stages based clinical ages 51–87, interviewed. Established instruments used measure beliefs. Quality (QOL) was rated 5-point Likert scale.Results. A multivariable regression model including disease, mastery, health locus predicted QOL (R 2 = 0.48), mastery as only significant predictor (p .0001). There differences for all < .05).Conclusions. Mastery even when depression disability included model. Differences suggest that profile patients may change progresses.
