摘要: THE calcium channel responsible for the release of Ca2+ from sarcoplasmic reticulum skeletal muscle during excitation–contraction coupling has recently been identified and purified1–4,21. The isolated morphologically with 'foot' structures1,2 which are associated junctional face membrane terminal cisternae reticulum. In situ, foot structure extends across gap triad junction to trans-verse tubule5. We describe here three-dimensional architecture (3.7 nm resolution) channel/foot fast-twitch rabbit muscle, we determined electron micrographs isolated, non-crystalline structures that had tilted in microscope. reconstruction reveals two different faces an internal stain accumulates at several interconnected locations, could empty into junction. detailed complex is relevant understanding both physical path followed by ions association transverse tubules
