摘要: AbstractThis paper presents a newly developed rapid prototyping (RP) machine. The design of this machine is based on the Eclipse parallel mechanism invented by authors. One advantages as compared to Gough-Stewart-based mechanisms and applied machining processes that spindle can tilt 90 degrees enables five-face without any set-up change workpieces. This advantage has been fully utilized in designing new RP process consists four stages: (1) post-machining feature extraction, (2) slicing deposition feature, (3) repeated each sliced layer, (4) post-machining. Whole stages are executed one structure change. Using Eclipse-RP standard test parts, remarkable gains productivity obtained, namely 2.5 times reduction time 8 cost.
