摘要: Abstract Understanding how migratory species select habitats is essential for applied ecology and biological conservation. Although move across a wide range of environments during migration, their dynamic response to has rarely been considered. Taking advantage the fine spatial-temporal resolution satellite tracking data, we studied habitat selection East Asian greater white-fronted geese ( Anser albifrons ) along spring migration route from Yangtze River Basin Lena Delta Yana Bay. We developed novel methodology improve distribution models (SDMs) by incorporating environmental variables derived remotely sensed data precisely corresponding time. Our results demonstrate that distance nearest water body, elevation, human population density temperature contribute greatly models. Water-related topographic factors (e.g., slope body) were consistently associated with wintering area breeding area, while varied influences in different periods are closely related adaptation local environments. In addition, curves vegetation index indicate more strongly food quality than quantity stopover sites. By building SDMs periods, provide unique perspective on long-distance migrant responds The proposed here could be integrated future conservation management plans predicting relationship fast changing conditions.
