摘要: Stem cells have the potential for self-renewal and differentiation. First stem cell cultures were derived 30 years ago from early developing mouse embryos. These are pluripotent embryonic (ES) cells. Efforts towards ES derivation been attempted in other mammalian non-mammalian species. Work with culture fish started 20 ago. Laboratory species, particular zebrafish medaka, focus of research cultures. Medaka is second organism that generated first gave rise to a spermatogonial line capable test-tube sperm production. Most recently, haploid producing whole animals also medaka. ES-like reported several marine Attempts germline transmission gene targeting zebrafish. Recent witnessed progress markers procedures characterization. include identification homologs/paralogs pluripotency genes parameters optimal chimera formation. In addition, germ transplantation attracted considerable interest surrogate Haploid nuclear transfer has proven medaka feasibility semi-cloning as novel assisted reproductive technology. this special issue on “Fish Cells Nuclear Transfer”, we will our review illustrate current status perspective application. We mention new development conventional transfer.
