摘要: The compatibility of the properties elastomer with conventional diesel fuel has made it favourable in many engineering applications. However, due to global energy insecurity issues, there is an urgent need find alternative renewable sources as replacements diesel. In this respect, biodiesel appears be a promising candidate. Hence, research into and fatigue characteristics elastomers exposed becomes essential. present paper introduces first attempt investigate effect different solvents on swollen elastomers. filled nitrile rubbers are immersed palm obtain same degree swelling prior application uniaxial loading. Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) analysis carried out observe fracture surfaces. Stretch-N curves plotted illustrate life duration. These showed that lifetime rubber longest for dry least biodiesel. FESEM micrographs reveal loading conditions have no crack initiation propagation patterns regardless state. (C) 2014 Elsevier Ltd.
