Electron impact ionization cross-sections of n-heptane

摘要: Abstract Electron impact ionization of n -heptane was studied using mass spectrometry. Cross-sections for the formation molecular ion and ionic fragments are measured between 10 eV 86 eV with a total cross-section 1.5 × 10 −16  cm 2 towards 50 eV. The is most abundant below 16 eV. present results display good agreement cross-sections calculated one BEB model. Five ions C H +1 + (2 ≤   ≤ 6) result from simple C–C bond split in ion. 3 7 , identified as isopropyl cation, species above Four  ≤ 5) H-atom rearrangement. 6 propene these four cations 35 eV. other ions, −1  ≤ 4), cyclopropenyl methyl may 4 9 major alkyl issued fragmentation
