Spin crossover equation of state and sound velocities of (Mg0.65Fe0.35)O ferropericlase to 140 GPa

Using spin crossover EOS Debye sound velocity, we derived shear (VS) compressional (VP) velocities Comparing our previous results on (Mg,Fe)O similar pressures, find that addition of iron decreases both VP VS, while elevating their ratio (VP/VS). Small amounts (<10%) mixed silicates could explain moderate reductions wave speeds near core mantle boundary (CMB), larger amount CMB would not allow large structure maintain neutral buoyancy.
