摘要: Abstract Elastic wave velocities of minerals are important for constraining the chemistry, structure and dynamics Earth’s mantle based on comparison between laboratory-based measurements seismic observations. As second most abundant phase in lower mantle, (Mg,Fe)O ferropericlase has been focus numerous studies measuring elastic using various methods such as Brillouin spectroscopy ultrasonic measurements. Recently, nuclear inelastic scattering (NIS) used to determine iron-bearing phases. However, obtained NIS considerably than by other methods, even at ambient conditions. One possible source this discrepancy is local nature method. In order test hypothesis, we have investigated six samples with iron contents NIS. The Debye sound calculated conventional method analysis consistent previous results NIS, yet values significantly those ultrasonics spectroscopy. If re-calculated a mixture different next-neighbour configurations compositions, determined agree well from methods. Our new model was also successfully applied high-pressure data taken literature. constitute an step towards better understanding how obtain reliable
