摘要: The universal occurrence of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhiza in feeding roots Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg. is reported. Similarities are shown with infections known, other hosts, to be caused by species Endogone. Penetration the root from external hyphae: infection develops cortex, and remains intact until secondary thickening occurs. Evidence given against an earlier suggestion that Macrophomina phaseoli endophyte. Endotrophic plants grown association recorded. Resting spores resembling those Endogone have been recovered soil litter, but attempts germinate these culture endophyte were unsuccessful. Seedlings pots readily become infected mycorrhizal rubber roots, no evidence has found either a beneficial or harmful effect on their growth.
