摘要: Abstract OBJECTIVE The clinical course of bilateral acoustic tumors associated with neurofibromatosis (NF2) is generally troublesome, and no definite treatment strategy has been established. Follow-up results after radiosurgery are reported herein. METHODS current indications for 1) a growing tumor less than 30 mm in mean diameter, 2) the ipsilateral ear serviceable hearing, 3) there risk brain stem compression or dysfunction. Twenty cases were treated gamma knife, including 7 males 13 females. age was 38.2 years size 24.4 mm. maximum marginal doses 26.8 Gy 13.0 Gy, respectively. Among them, 12 patients had profound hearing loss (treated) ear, but other 8 hearing. RESULTS Tumors showed central necrosis 60% at 6 months 70% 9 radiosurgery. Thereafter, often demonstrated slow regression. rate shrinkage 20% months, 35% 24 almost 36 months. At last follow-up (mean 33.6 months), 50% control 100%. contralateral stable (60%) enlarged (40%). Preservation ipsilaterally obtained 33.3%. Deterioration facial nerve function, either natural as complication, occurred 10%. CONCLUSIONS Because good well an acceptable complication rate, should be incorporated NF2.
