摘要: Abstract The present work evaluated polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) and carbohydrates production by wastewater borne cyanobacteria at demonstrative-scale (three photobioreactors (PBR) of 11.7 m3 each), using agricultural runoff as feedstock. Agricultural was fed to PBR1, which devoted selection biomass growth. In PBR2, inorganic carbon added in a feast famine regime favour PHB-accumulating microorganisms. Finally, continuously PBR3 boost PHB accumulation. A high removal efficiency 95% 99% for total nitrogen phosphorus obtained, respectively. Cyanobacteria were successfully selected outcompeted green microalgae. Results suggested that minimum concentration needed accumulate while accumulated only with CO2 additions. Maximum concentrations 4.5%VSS 69%VSS obtained. Overall, this study shows the potential produce within biorefinery concept. And it gives insight on strategies massive scale.
