Ossicular Replacement Prostheses

摘要: The field of biomaterials has, to a large extent, derived most its common materials from other fields science. Similarly, in otolaryngology have been previously utilized biomedical arenas. As with implants, homografts or autografts are generally considered the ‘gold standard’ against which all compared. But lack availability, among reasons, prevents being material used for replacement ossicles. For reasons discussed later, ossicular replacements usually made synthetic such as polyethylene and ceramics.
