A Scalable Architecture for Monitoring and Visualizing Multicast Statistics

摘要: An understanding of certain network functions is critical for successful management. Managers must have insight into topology, protocol performance and fault detection/isolation. The ability to obtain suchin sight even more when trying support evolving technologies. Multicast one example a new layer technology the focus this paper. For multicast, pace change rapid, modifications routing mechanisms are frequent, faults common. In paper we describe tool, called Mantra, developed monitor multicast. Mantra collects, analyzes, visualizes network-layer (routing topology) data about global multicast infrastructure. two most important are: (1) monitoring networks on scale; (2) presenting results in form intuitive visualizations.
