Methods A cross-sectional was designed to collect data from a cluster randomly selected samples 2011. A total 495 child-mother pairs San-Ming District Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, participated study. Children aged 4-6 years received dental examinations, their mothers completed self-administered questionnaire. The SiC Index indicated highest values participants. association between 3 groups – dmft (decayed, missing, filled teeth)-free, non-SiC, mothers’ children's were using polytomous logistic regression analysis. Results Among children, experience most frequent mandibular molars (64.5-84.9 percent), almost 50 percent these children had central incisor caries. associated with lower maternal self-efficacy [adjusted odds ratio (aOR) = 2.04], child's intake sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) more than once per day (aOR = 2.27), irregular child checkups (aOR = 2.32). Significant interaction detected among who whose SSBs (P for term = 0.034 0.004, respectively). Conclusions Caries prevention programs should prioritize enhancing emphasize childhood management regular prevent severe preschool-aged children.
