摘要: Video broadcasters currently envision to target a variety of receiving devices different resolutions. In such heterogeneous TV network the transport resource consumption is likely increase as types and number increase. We estimate required capacity for an IPTV mobile taking into account parameters proposed in standardization bodies. The consumed fluctuates over time two reasons. First, we constant video quality much possible, encoded variable bit rate. order characterize fluctuations rate associated with one channel have representative set clips. Second, user behavior causes demand fluctuate because consider multicast-based system where only requested channels are transported. compare modes transporting multiple resolutions: mode based on Scalable Coding (SVC) all resolutions embedded stream simulcast (SIM) offered parallel. evaluate some realistic examples which effects dominant, i.e., penalty SVC or fact that SIM transports streams parallel rather than embedding them does.
