摘要: Increased mechanosensitivity of the median nerve in carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) has been demonstrated during upper limb tension test 1 (ULTT1) when is passively elongated. However, neurophysiological changes sensory axons stressing activities are unknown. The aim present study was to verify possible excitability afferent following stress elongation, subjects with and without CTS. Eight CTS hands eight controls were selected. Recruitment properties studied by analyzing relationship between intensity electrical stimulation size motor response, before after intermittent-repetitive neural mobilization. Only hands, intervention, stimulus-response curve strikingly abnormal: both plateau slope values significantly lower. During anatomical across compressive forces may exert mechanical traction on nerve, since it 'tethered' at tunnel, resulting inactivation Na(+) channels wrist, or impairment energy-dependent processes which affect axonal conduction block. We conclude that entrapment neuropathies, mobilization elongation generate failure peripheral nerve. Our supports specific considerations for patient education therapeutic approaches.
