Opportunities and Constraints to Community Forestry: experience from Malinau

摘要: Introduction Since the early 1980’s, efforts have been made to increase community involvement in forest management and achieve recognition of existing forestry activities Indonesia. Recent changes political climate (reformasi) implementation regional autonomy would seem opportunities for development forestry. To that end, Center International Forestry Research (CIFOR) has working with 27 communities Upper Malinau basin East Kalimantan since 1999 improve local peoples’ access control over benefits.
