摘要: Abstract To understand the fatigue microcrack growth mechanisms of a cast AM50 alloy, experiments were carried out with online observation using scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results concerning propagation under higher stress levels ( σ max =0.86−1.00 0.2 ) displayed that microcracks propagate mainly along grain boundaries or interdendritic regions α-Mg grains. Fatigue crack initiation also occurs on near root notch because concentration, and rarely at Mg 17 Al 12 (β-phase) within α-grains. propagates microscopically in zigzag manner. A method for estimating rate was proposed terns tip opening displacement (CTOD).
