摘要: A laser ablation technique has been developed for elemental and isotopic ratio analyses of solid materials using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Using a soft in this study, reproducibility the signal intensity precision measurement were successfully improved. The involves beginning at low power (lower than 1 mJ) gradually increasing to achieve constant stable signal. method minimises release large fragments removes spiky high which is characteristic conventional techniques. eliminates requirement pre-ablation prior data acquisition consequently analysis time sampling depth can be minimised. In order evaluate versatility technique, Pb:U zircon samples have determined. Conventional techniques abundance ratios show serious fractionation effect because greater volatility Pb. here, effectively minimised resultant age excellent agreement with U–Pb obtained by thermal ionisation spectrometry or secondary ion presented here demonstrate clearly that careful control process produce accurate precise from 10–12µm crater pits.
