摘要: The syncytial cytoplasmic layer, termed the tegument, which covers entire surface of adult schistosomes, is a major interface between parasite and its host. Since schistosomes can survive for decades within host bloodstream, they are clearly able to evade immune responses, their ability dependent on properties tegument surface. We review here molecular organization biochemical functions combining extensive literature over last three with recent proteomic studies. have interpreted as bounded by conventional plasma membrane overlain membrane-like secretion, membranocalyx, molecules associate. range proteins, glycans lipids found in complex evaluated, together detected. consider way formed after cercarial penetration into skin, changes that occur parasites develop maturity. Lastly, we evidence dynamics turnover.
