摘要: Differentially charged analogues of block copolymers containing repeating sequences from silk (GAGAGS) and elastin (GVGVP) were synthesized using genetic engineering techniques by replacing a valine residue with glutamic acid. The sensitivity to pH temperature was examined at various polymer concentrations, ionic strengths, lengths. polymers transitioned soluble precipitate state over narrow ranges. transition T(t) (the which half-maximal spectrophotometric absorption observed) increased increasing up 7.0 leveled off above this value for the Glu-containing (17E)(11). independent Val-containing (17V)(11). It decreased strength, concentration, length both polymers. These results suggest that substituting amino acids neutral strategic locations in backbone control silkelastin-like techniques, it is possible precisely pH, temperature, strength.
