摘要: Gelcasting is a useful method for producing high-strength ceramic green parts. However, industry has been reluctant to use the gelcasting technique because most commonly used gel, acrylamide (AM), neurotoxin. Here we report an attempt at of fused silica material using low-toxicity 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA). The HEMA-based aqueous system was found perform as well AM-based systems in terms properties suspensions, cast parts, and densified components. new should be readily applicable other materials.
