摘要: We present measurements of the electrical conductance through breaking point contacts in commercial and home-built electromechanical relays under ambient conditions. Inspired by an experiment published Costa-Kr\"amer et al. [Surf. Sci. 342, L1144 (1995)], we constructed automated setup, which makes it possible to record a contact 25 000 times during 24 h. Quantization units ${G}_{0}{=2e}^{2}/h$ is shown be intimately correlated with choice material experimental This previous studies clearly demonstrate that Au benchmark system, exhibits quantized independent Peaks histogram are asymmetric, interpreted as another indicator quantization. For more reactive metals Ag Cu, quantization also observed, but not Au. In contrast, find no evidence number transition metals. It tentatively suggested presence and/or absence impurities nanowires. Other deviations from perfect discussed. revealed how differential nonlinearity analog-to-digital converters introduces significant noise corresponding histograms unless proper compensation made.
