摘要: Abstract Rotenone (ROT) is well known pesticide been used in agriculture due to its low cost and rapid action. This has also widely establish Parkinson's disease (PD) models rodents. Here we have evaluated the role of established potent molecule ‘Low Molecular Weight Chitosan (LMWC)’ against ROT induced neurotoxicity Drosophila melanogaster. Male adult flies (8–10 days) were for using (500 μM) treated with LMWC (5 & 10 mg/mL basal media) during 7 days experiment. Subsequently, neurodegenerative behavioural parameters assessed. As a result, exposed alone showed decreased locomotor behaviour negative geotaxis open-field studies had higher incidence mortality compared control group. These effects accompanied by decrease dopamine level, ETC complexes increase reactive oxygen species (ROS) production cholinergic activities head body flies, suggesting was able induce oxidative stress. Co-exposure reversed impairment, exploratory deficits changes biochemical normal level increased survival rate 16 days. Thus, suggested may be considered as better supplement prevention management disease.
