Prevalence of Allergic Diseases among Korean School-age Children: A Nationwide Cross-Sectional Questionnaire Study

摘要: The purpose of this study was to investigate the nationwide prevalence childhood asthma, eczema and other allergic diseases in Korean school-age children (8-11 yr old) assess difference between residential areas. Among 6,279 elementary schools, 427 schools were randomly selected according area (metropolitan, provincial, rural, industrial area) by cluster sampling method. Parents students completed a modified version questionnaire formulated International Study Asthma Allergies Childhood (ISAAC). 50,200 subjects, 31,026 (61.8%) responded, 30,893 (99.6%) analyzed. 12-month wheeze, flexural rash, rhinitis symptoms 4.8%, 15.3%, 32.9%, respectively. diagnosis boys higher than that girls, with exception eczema. In both among industrial, metropolitan provincial areas not statistically significant, but differences rural significant. Our results support importance contextual effect associated as causative agents children.
