摘要: Two methods were employed for measuring coccolith formation and photosynthesis in coccolithophorids. The first method was based on measurements of 14C radioactivity cells membrane filters before after acid treatment. second involved a conversion coccoliths or whole to BaCO3 prior counting. It observed that determinations photosynthetic (or total) by the method, count rate produced given amount isotope 30–40% lower non-motile motile forms Coccolithus pelagicus than C. huxleyi. There no similarly great discrepancy 14C. Light-dependent demonstrated both pelagicus. form may deposit several times more carbon its it assimilates photosynthetically. In form, amounts less 2% carbon.
