摘要: Abstract Various aspects of behavior White-crowned Sparrows in an irradiation perference unit were examined. Included influences the preference cages themselves, orientation room, illumination, and temperature-irradiation intensity combinations. Of these, temperature thermal had most pronounced effects. At low temperatures birds spent a relatively large fraction their 480 min photoperiod environments moderate smaller at higher (e.g., mean values 5°C: 188 96 1.0 0.4 gcal/cm 2 -min, respectively; 67 1.7 -min). less time irradiated 30°C: 6 33 respectively). Instead larger proportion was air stream 196 vs 42 30°C 5°C, Time intervals generally longer lower than temperatures. Interpreted jointly with measurements oxygen consumption as function intensity, data show that have sensitive powers behavioral thermoregulation respect to incident radiation.
