摘要: Radiant energy reduces oxygen consumption in birds; this reduction is correlated with feather color, being greater dark birds (26 percent reduction) than white ones (6 reduction). With radiant (basking), the cow-bird effectively increased its insulation, thus shifting lower end of zone thermal neutrality down by as much 10°C (35° to 25°C).
