摘要: We build an efficient and reliable data transport protocol on top of the Short Message Service (SMS). conduct a series experiments to characterize SMS behaviour under bursty, unconventional workloads. This study examines how variables such as transmission order, delay between transmissions, network interface used, time-of-day affect service. present design implementation our protocol. show that by adapting unique channel conditions we can reduce message overheads much 50% increase throughput 545% over approach used existing applications. Although provide efficient, low-bandwidth, moderate-latency communication mobile devices throughout world, believe this work has largest potential impact in developing regions where is often only option for wireless communication.
