摘要: We report an outbreak of Enterobacter aerogenes in intensive care unit (ICU) and two medicine departments that produced the extended-spectrum beta-lactamase TEM-24, which was difficult to detect by disk agar diffusion. The strains were compared DNA restriction fragment length polymorphism after pulsed-field gel electrophoresis following cleavage with XbaI. This typing method indicated a single strain, first isolated ICU, spread throughout other medical as result patient transfer. also observed transfer vivo plasmid encoding TEM-24 from strain different Escherichia coli Citrobacter freundii ICU. It therefore appears epidemic involved results events: dissemination one among various members family Enterobacteriaceae.
