摘要: This study updates previous estimates of emissions to the UK atmosphere polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and dibenzofurans (PCDFs). Following a systematic screening range industrial processes operating in for potential release PCDDFs atmosphere, 23 were shortlisted further consideration as emitters. To these added six non-industrial sources PCDDF emissions; domestic coal wood combustion, crematoria, traffic, natural fires accidental fires. For each process emission factors identified. Emission combined with quantity material treated or produced generate an estimate annual released atmosphere. The total estimated current ranged from 560 1100 g I-TEQ year−1, contributing 535–955 average approximately 90% inventory. Emissions MSW incineration plants dominant, 70% sources. sinter plants, iron steel non-ferrous metals operations clinical waste collectively contributed 25% roughly equal proportions. effect tightening controls was also examined. Assuming situation when regulations concerning are fully implemented, reduction 560–1100 year−1 110–350 is envisaged. largest effected through imposition 1 ng m−3 limit on incinerators: contribution falls present 60–85% 6–18% emissions.
