摘要: Background: In females, estrogen is a potential modulator of cortisol response to stressors. The aim this study was determine the influence menstrual cycle phase, oral contraception (OC) use and exercise training on hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis activity reactivity after physical stress. Aim: We investigated effects OC exhaustive exercise-induced changes in free salivary concentrations urinary cortisol/cortisone excretion healthy young women. Materials subjects: Twenty-eight women were allocated an untrained group (no.=16) or trained (no.=12), depending their background. composed nine users (UNT-OC+) seven eumenorrheic (UNT-OC−) tested follicular luteal phases, while entirely OC+ subjects (T-OC+). Methods: Three laboratory sessions conducted randomised order: prolonged test, short-term control session. For each session, urine saliva specimens collected at rest (09: 00 h) then, 30, 60 90 min later. Results: Estradiol fluctuation during phase did not alter baseline values responses exercise. associated with increased resting blunted stimulation. No effect noted. Conclusions: but levels low HPA reactivity.
