摘要: Bacillus anthracis, the etiological agent of anthrax, a zoonosis relatively common throughout world, can be used as an bioterrorism. In naturally occurring outbreaks and in criminal release this pathogen, fast accurate diagnosis is crucial to effective response. Microbiological forensics epidemiologic investigations increasingly rely on molecular markers, such polymorphisms DNA sequence, obtain reliable information regarding identification or source suspicious strain. Over past decade, significant research efforts have been undertaken develop genotyping methods with increased power differentiate B. anthracis strains. A growing number signatures identified survey diversity nature, leading rapid advances our understanding global population pathogen. This article provides overview different phylogenetic subgroups distributed across particular focus Europe. Updated anthrax situation Europe reported. brief description some work progress package 5.1 AniBioThreat project also presented, including (1) development robust typing tool based suspension array technology multiplexed single nucleotide scoring (2) collection from European isolates exchanged between partners project. The know-how acquired will contribute improving EU's ability react rapidly when identity real origin strain need established.
