A controlled study of plasma exchange in the treatment of severe rheumatoid arthritis.

摘要: Abstract To learn whether the removal of immune complexes from circulation by plasma exchange could effect an improvement in disease activity rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients, we performed a controlled study 20 patients with severe progressive which had not responded to previous therapy. Ten (Group 1) were hospitalized, continued on their regular anti-inflammatory medication, and given graded course physiotherapy. A further 10 2) received same treatment as first group addition concurrent plasmapheresis. Clinical measurement after revealed little difference between two groups statistically significant four measures Group 1 five 2. Laboratory studies suggested that intensity was sufficient remove circulating these patients. Our results confirm hospitalization itself is benefit acute exacerbations arthritis. The marginal achieved management (despite complexes) makes its short-term use questionable value
