Prevalence of subclinical diabetes in a commercial flock of dairy goats in India and its interaction with milk quality

摘要: Abstract Blood plasma concentrations of random glucose, fasting intravenous glucose tolerance test (IVGTT) glycated haemoglobin, fructosamine, cholesterol, triglycerides and insulin were measured 5 times in 379 goats different days order to evaluate the prevalence subclinical diabetes commercial flock dairy goats. Milk composition milk antioxidant capacity was also evaluated after screening. Of that screened for diabetic biomarkers, 45 animals had abnormal levels above mentioned indices. 16 out normal values on subsequent tests 45, only one or two biomarkers slightly elevated at a particular measurement; hence these considered as normal. 24 (6.3%) diagnosed diabetic, based clinicopathological findings monitoring: significantly higher IVGTT, fructosamine lower all measurements. fat lactose comparison non-diabetic (P
