摘要: We present performance results for several high-speed networks in distributed computing environments. These are: HiPPI, ATM, Fibre Channel, IBM Allnode switch, FDDI, and Ethernet. are parts of two testbeds: DaVinci-a cluster 16 SGI R8000 workstations at NASA Ames-and LACE-a 96 RS6000 Lewis. Also, an SP2 machine is considered comparison. Several communication tests performed the presented programming levels: BSD socket interface using program ttcp PVM message passing library. show that emerging network technologies can achieve reasonable under certain conditions. However, achievable still far behind theoretical peak rates.
