摘要: In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in object-oriented distributed computing since it is better equipped to deal with complex systems while providing extensibility, maintainability and reusability. At the same time, several new high-speed network technologies have emerged for local- wide-area networks. However, performance of networking software not improving as fast that hardware workstation microprocessors. This paper gives overview evaluates Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) standard a environment at NASA Ames Research Center. The consists two testbeds SGI workstations connected by four networks: Ethernet, FDDI, HiPPI ATM. results three communication are presented, analyzed compared. These are: BSD socket programming interface, IONA's Orbix, implementation CORBA specification, PVM message-passing library. show high-level interfaces, such PVM, can achieve reasonable under certain conditions.
