摘要: The Transport and Road Research Laboratory has been concerned for a long time with possible causes of driving difficulties developed methods investigating performance. question addressed here was how applicable these are in assessing problems arising from the use drugs which can impair performance, particularly widely-available centrally-acting drugs. We assessed four types driving-related tests by comparing their sensitivities two laboratory tests, elsewhere, measure more basic effects on using known to skills. Performances under influences ethanol, benzodiazepine lorazepam, antihistamine triprolidine, each given both as single high dose low dose, were compared performances after placebo. used double-blind crossover design, subject variability minimized studying only women limited age range (45-55 y). detected substances used, although they generally less sensitive than tests. individual test could be improved match those general assessments.
