摘要: This study attempts to assess the influence of changing land-use patterns on groundwater quality hard rock aquifer system in Maheshwaram watershed, near Hyderabad, India. The area is a rapidly urbanizing region with land development progressing at fast pace. To impact this rapid urbanization and overall transition, index (GQI) was prepared within geographical information (GIS). GQI integrates different water parameters give final value that can be used for spatio-temporal comparisons. transitions were closely monitored from 2003 2008 using multispectral satellite images. pattern has changed drastically an increase built-up expense other uses. analysis reveals deterioration related mainly unsewered sanitation poultry farms. Seasonal variability also assessed. Mean decreased 84.16 83.26 over period 5 years 2008, while seasonal increased. Variability integrated GIS yield sustainability map, terms quality. Zones sustainable unsustainable use demarcated better decision making municipal allotment region.
