摘要: Many valuable models and tools developed by scientists are often inaccessible to their potential users because of non-existent sharing infrastructure or lack documentation. Case in point is the FUTure Urban-Regional Environment Simulation (FUTURES), a patch-based land change model for generating scenario-based regional forecasts urban growth pattern. Despite highimpact publication, few scientists, planners, policy makers have adopted FUTURES due complexity use direct access. We seek address these issues integrating into GRASS GIS, free open source GIS research platform geospatial domain. This integration will enable us take advantage landscape structure analysis, thus eliminate need proprietary software data preprocessing. Moreover, simplifies distribution across all main operating systems ensures maintainability our project future. present case this advanced discuss current state as well planned steps achieve vision simple-to-use fully FUTURES.
