摘要: Background: Obesity is a worldwide epidemic and its prevalence has doubled in recent years. Studies report that obesity may positively or negatively influence on bone mass resulting formation resorption. Furthermore, there evidence suggesting some obesity surgical treatments can also result resorption. Thus, the aim of this study was to determine consequences monosodium glutamate (MSG)-induced modified duodenal-jejunal bypass (modDJB) surgery mandibular alveolar rats. Methods: A total 18 rats were divided into CON group (n = 6), MSG = 6) MDJB 6). During first 5 days life, CON received saline injections, groups received injections induce obesity. At 90 days, group underwent modDJB surgery. After 2 months, all animals euthanized; right hemi-mandible dissected, processed submitted histological analysis. The quantification osteocytes and osteoclasts measurement distance between cementum enamel junction crest (CEJ-BC) performed. data were analyzed evaluated using ANOVA Tukey’s tests. Results: results showed MSG-obese rat had lower alveolar resorption comparison with group. However, modDJB contributed increase Conclusions: Based these results, present concluded type of induction hypothalamic beneficial mandibular bone, but malefic effects bone.
