Influence of usage of e-books, online educational materials, and other programming books and students’ profiles on adoption of printed programming textbooks

摘要: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to determine the influence students’ profiles and usage e-books, online educational materials, other programming books on adoption printed textbooks for computing students. It was hypothesized that predictor variable set could not explain any variance dependent variables. Design/methodology/approach This descriptive study utilized a content-validated questionnaire. The involved 190 student participants. Canonical correlation analysis employed whether use, perceived usefulness, preference explained in textbook adoption. Findings Printed be by two functions. first function revealed use usefulness were positively influenced e-books fora/blogs, books, YouTube. second alone but negatively websites YouTube over textbooks. Originality/value The provided empirical evidence materials provide additional resources Thus, complement, rather than threaten, existence textbooks.
