Separation of 153Sm from other rare-earth radionuclides present in neutron-irradiated samarium oxide target using polymeric resin

摘要: The polymeric resin (acrylic acid-acrylonitrile)-methylenediacrylamide P(AA-AN)-DAM was prepared by free radical polymerization induced γ-irradiation to a dose of 20 kGy (dose rate 5 h−1). 153Sm separated from rare-earth radionulides (154,155Eu) using the synthesized as cation exchanger. distribution behavior and 154,155Eu HCl or succinic acid in presence 0.8 M ascorbic solutions on studied batch technique optimize separation process that could be applied column chromatographic technique. Both were strongly absorbed 0.01 onto column. 1 (0.08 M) directly eluted 154,155Eu, which followed elution 0.5 at flow ml min−1. radionuclidic purity radiochemical determined: ∼98 97% respectively.
