摘要: Tectonic activity in convergent plate boundaries commonly involves backward migration (rollback) of narrow subducting slabs and segmentation subduction zones through slab tearing. Here we investigate this process the Italian region by integrating seismic tomography data with spatiotemporal analysis magmatic rocks kinematic reconstructions. Seismic results show gaps within lithosphere, which are interpreted as deep (100–500 km) subvertical tear faults. The development such faults is consistent proposed reconstructions, different rates rollback affected parts zone. We further suggest a possible link between occurrence regional transitional geochemical signatures arc type OIB type, associated tearing breakoff. conclude that lithospheric-scale play fundamental role destruction zones. As such, they should be incorporated into reconstructions ancient margins, where possibly represented continental lineaments linked magmatism mineralization.
