Breast cancer. Experiences with conservation therapy.

摘要: A series of 1,504 patients with clinically node-negative carcinoma the breast treated by conservation has been followed for 26 years. The majority did not have an axillary dissection. relative survival 84% at 5 years and 72% 10 compares favorably reported rates radical surgery. Postoperative irradiation does influence but reduces relapse in breast. Irradiation regional nodes is unnecessary. Lumpectomy alone produces a rate equivalent to more treatment. Younger had larger tumors, increased risk relapse, reduced survival. Local or distant was function estrogen receptor (ER) progesterone (PR) status.
