摘要: A detailed morphological investigation of the anterior sensory organs, nerve ring and a glomerulus-like structure in male Onchocerca volvulus was performed by means electron microscopy. The 8 head papillae are arranged common 4 + pattern most filarial worms circles around mouth opening. amphidial openings found between inner outer on both sides mouth. Inside, several additional axons seen tissue tip not related to one identified papillar structures. exhibit remarkably different fine structure, part complex system at least 2 receptor cell types worm. channel contains modified cilia; accessory associated with cytoplasm sheath cell. is located about 150 micrometers posterior from outermost region. It consists fibres coiled oesophagus. comparison central nervous did show expected differences heterogeneous age distribution natural worm population. This contrast previous findings respect tissues parts study also provides first evidence that suggests existence an excretory organ region ring. Paired structures lateral chords canal formed projection basal zone cuticles were identified.
