摘要: Transcriptome studies have revealed a surprisingly high level of variation among individuals in expression key genes the CNS under both normal and experimental conditions. Ten-fold is common, yet specific causes consequences this are largely unknown. By combining classic gene mapping methods-family linkage genomewide association-with high-throughput genomics, it now possible to define quantitative trait loci (QTLs), single-gene variants, even single SNPs indels that control different brain regions cells. This review considers some major technical conceptual challenges analyzing with focus on mRNAs, rather than noncoding RNAs or proteins. At one analysis, work has been highly successful, we finally techniques can be used track down small numbers CNS. But at higher still do not understand genetic architecture brain, QTLs protein levels cell function, combined impact differences behavior disease risk. These important gaps likely bridged over next several decades using (1) much larger sample sizes, (2) more powerful RNA sequencing proteomic methods, (3) novel statistical computational models predict genome-to-phenome relations.
